CAPER Memorabilia

All of the memorabilia below are from Linda Grissette. If you have any memorabilia you'd like to see here, just submit pictures and they will be posted and credit to you.  Return to the Main page.

Here's a place where we can share out memories.

You will notice that one of our pieces of Memorabilia is on the top of every page of this site...our patch that is our shield.  My patch (like most others) was left on my uniform and I was hoping that some alumni would have theirs and send me a picture of it.  Instead, I found this picture on-line from an unknown source.  I was thrilled to see it, as I'm sure every CAPER alumni will be to see it here.

All of the memorabilia currently on the site is mine and I'd love to have more here. I'd love to have membership shingles signed by a variety of national commanders (and especially on that I signed or possibly processed).  But the major thing I would love to have is copies of company charters to display on each company page.  I got the inspiration from one of the Pershing Rifles Company Alumni Association's websites.  One of their alumni as assigned to their ROTC department years later and saved the charter.  I know of one CAPER Charter that still exists and am still waiting to get a scan of it.  I'm hoping that there may be others out there, too.  Finding out about the one....and finding this patch picture...give me hope that we will find more.

Linda

Linda's membership shingle signed by Gail Kish. Linda's display with her membership card, membership cord, ribbons, my last rank (small and large) and OU ROTC pin.  It doesn't include the white national staff cord that was left with the headquarters.  When she made this display, her brain was not remembering things right and they are completely out of proper order!

Note on Ribbons:  Linda is not 100% sure which ribbon is which, although she thinks she is close.  So she started a page with a contest to see what everyone thinks!  Go to the page and have some fun submitting them.  You won't be more embarrassed than she is if you don't have them right.  She wore some of these for many years and even sent them out to others.

A better picture of a membership cord.  As you can see, it has gotten pretty dirty over the years.  Linda is going to try to clean some how.  Any ideas?
